£500
Jules Nicholas Steiner (French) waltzing doll, circa 1880, bisque head with blue glass eyes, open mouth, bisque arms, clockwork mechanism, height 38cm
Two fingertips from her right hand are off but they are present. There is a small chip to the bisque collar just beneath the head at the back of the doll. The clockwork mechanism is working but rather reluctantly when placed on a table surface. Her arms raise and she attempts to say 'Mama'; this sounds more like a teddy bear growler.
The silk dress is shot in places and discoloured and the dress was restored using Victorian materials by Delectable of Chester some years ago.
