Americana - a mid-20th century wooden ship's rivet or peg, from the Mayflower II, whittled and carved in the 17th century manner, naive octagonal head, 29.5cm long, c. 1955; a late 19th century mahogany compass, 15cm silvered register, hinged cover with hook-and-eye fastenings, 17 cm wide, c. 1900 (2) Provenance: Presented to the present vendor as a child holidaying in Brixham by a carpenter working on the new 'pilgrim' ship, which subsequently reenacted and sailed to America from Plymouth on April 20th 1957.
