A FIRST WORLD WAR CASUALTY PAIR TO THE ROYAL FUSILIERS. A Great War pair comprising War and Victory medals named to B-19785 Pte C.J. Marsh R.Fus. Cyril Joseph Marsh Served with the 9th (Service) Battalion Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment). The son of Joseph and Florence Marsh of 12 Barnard Hill, Muswell Hill, London, Private Cyril Joseph Marsh received a severe shrapnel wound that fractured his femur on the 26th April 1917, he died of his wounds later that day his death being reported by the 37th Field Ambulance. He is buried just outside Arras at the Fleuchy British Cemetery, his headstone reads 'Heavenly Father in thy keeping leave we here our loved one sleeping'. *CR slight surface marks.
