A Chinese brass bound yew wood box - second half 19th century, possibly a salt box, of tapered octagonal form, with split moulded lid with foliate chased shaped lock plate with (later) sliding wood catch, the sides bound with gilt brass bands and with swing handles to each end. (LWH 46 x 34.25 x 31.5cm)
