A John Rogers & Son part dinner service in the 'Elephant' pattern, 19th century, comprising: fourteen dinner plates, a serving dish, and a side plate, each piece decorated with a central elephant in a pagoda landscape, the border with floral and foliate sprays, with a serving plate and two meat plates in the 'Camel' pattern, and two serving dishes in the 'Musketeer' pattern, each piece with impressed maker's mark to base (22) (at fault)

All Elephant pattern pieces show fine surface crazing throughout (stained in places), and varying degrees of firing pits and frits. A dinner plate shows an extensive crack and a chip to the rim, and the side plate shows a hairline crack. A further dinner plate shows a glazing fault to the underside.

The Camel meat plates both show surface crazing and firing pits and frits, and one shows a glazing fault to the top surface. The serving plate shows surface crazing and a hairline crack to the top left.

The two Musketeer serving bowls each show firing pits and frits, and fine surface crazing throughout.
