Drocourt, Paris, a late-Victorian French carriage clock the eight-day duration timepiece movement having a later platform lever escapement with the backplate stamped with the J.W.B. oval trademark overlaying the Drocourt mark and numbered 20248, with typical Drocourt S/F regulation to the top, the inside of the plates stamped with the blanc roulant number 6417 and Drocourt oval trademark marked Drocourt, Paris Fnt., the white porcelain dial having black Roman numerals, Arabic outer five-minute numerals and signed for the retailer J.W. Benson, 25, Old Bond Street, London and Paris, Fabrique de Paris, the brass Obis style case with matching handle, height 14.5/12cm handle up/down. This style of Obis cased carriage clock was made by Couaillet Freres in the clockmaking town of Saint-Nicolas-d'Aliermont with the workshop situated a few hundred yards from that of Alfred Drocourt and so it is probable that Couaillet supplied Drocourt with this clock to finish in their own workshop.
