A VERY FINE GEORGE III MAHOGANY BACHELORS CHEST, dating between 1760-1820. This charming neatly sized chest has – as would be expected with a ‘bachelor’s chest’ a fold out top with a baize lining, that rests upon a pair of pull out lopers. The baize lined top is intended for preparing clothing or folding the clothing for storage. Beneath the top are a set of 5 drawers in a 2 over 3 arrangement each with a cock-bead trim and polished brass swing handles with pierced brass handle plates. All raised on short bracket feet. Dimensions: 73cm tall x 76cm wide x 36cm deep. Condition: In good, original condition.
