A very early clay ‘stick’ oil-lamp Found in Grand Harbour, Malta, in 140ft of water With handle and base rim to catch any spilt olive-oil. Similar oil-lamps were in use in Malta in the 18th century, but archaeologists who have examined this lamp feel it could even be as early as the 15th century.
