MEDALLION. Calendar Medal, England, 1755, by John Powell, 41mm, brass, NF, see Ackerman nos. 23 & 24, VG. John Powell was the only maker to straddle both the Julian and Gregorian calendars, striking single year calendar medals in an uninterrupted series from 1746 to 1782.
