Rare Aden casualty's 1962 GSM 2 clasps Borneo, South Arabia to 23847836 Pte J.T. Hunter A. & SH top clasp unofficial rivets nearly extremely fine. John Thompson Hunter was killed in action by mutinying local forces including the Aden Police on 20th June 1967 and is buried in Silent Valley Cemetery, Little Aden. 5 members of RNF and 3 from A&SH were all killed when their Land Rovers were fired upon by mutinying local forces outside the Crater Police Barracks and was the start of the stand off prior to the Battle of the Crater. He was also wounded in action in Borneo on 2nd June 1965, authentication for his wound is available from Regimental Records, available at Stirling Castle. The Regimental History on line confirms "Two platoons of A Company were lifted to a location near the border in preparation for an operation. which resulted in Lt D.P. Thomson and 3 platoon laying a successful ambush in the Kandai border area in which 11 enemy were killed. The only Battalion casualty was L/Cpl Hunter, who was shot through the left hand.
