A rare Second World War Special Operations Executive (SOE/OSS) 'Striptease' parachutist suit, dated 1942, size 2, hand-screened green camouflaged heavy material, with a collar, the front with working full double-length zips with 'DOT' metal and brown leather pulls, dated and size marked in black ink to the interior, exterior right cuff knife pocket removed and now lacking, left leg complete with pistol pocket (top stud missing), interior pocket to each hip, including a padded spade/handle pocket and two further interior pockets to each side of the breast, with panel fastening for seat cushion to rear (no cushion) This jumpsuit was designed for British SOE and American OSS (Office of Strategic Services) operatives to be worn over civilian clothes worn by secret agents when parachuting into occupied territory. Made as a single-use suit with body length zips and intended to be buried after landing, they were nicknamed 'Striptease suits' for their ease of quick removal. Condition:Update - the left hand zip snags at around 2/3rd of the way down, this might work with some coaxing but we do not want to force it. The fly and the right hand zip work full length. The original description should have read pocket removed from right hand cuff, see photos for the snag, remaining stitching, full reverse and a photograph of the interior with the suit placed in reverse
