£100 - £150
A Burmese wood and red lacquer jewelled figure of a deity: probably late 19th or early 20th century, possibly originally forming part of a decorative doorway, the seated male figure with hands raised behind his head, with 'horned' hairdress set with coloured glass jewels, wearing similarly decorated necklace and cuff and ankle ornaments, (29 cm high), on a modern stand, (overall height 44.5 cm).
* Condition: Unlacquered section to the back where it originally fitted onto a bracket as part of a larger piece. This area now drilled and glued to hold the stand. Large flake from lacquer to belly and a few other smaller flakes to extremeties. Probably restoration/refinishing with some regilding to the lacquer to large areas of the figure, notably to the face, torso and outside of the limbs.
