The vendor describes this rare Consul Estate as being in fantastic restored condition. Bodywork, paintwork, all chrome and interior excellent. Only 4 previous owners, 2nd owner had the car from 1963 to 2008 and kept detailed ledgers listing every expense, showing mileages at Oil Changes and Servicing, which makes very interesting reading. Also plastic wallets of receipts from 1963 onwards. The next owner also completed the ledger.
Only two Hi Line Consul Estates known surviving worldwide. This car also has a extremely rare Raymond Mays cylinder head with SU carburettor, four - inlet manifold and tubular branched exhaust, complete with Raymond Mays grill badge, and receipt from Raymond Mays for fitting head and new half engine in 1965. It seems unlikely that any other Consul was fitted with a Raymond Mays conversion. Also fitted is a Handa vacuum operated overdrive giving relaxed motorway cruising. Overdrives normally only fitted to the Zephyr/Zodiacs.
Mechanically very good and drives lovely. All previous owners have looked after this car with great care.
So extensive history, Raymond Mays Conversion, Handa overdrive and only 2 surviving Hi Line Consul Estates worldwide makes this car so very rare.
