Old Father Time and Cupid: An early 19th century printed fan, French, the double paper leaf mounted on plain and slender wood sticks, the guards dyed darker than the mottled gorge, a central cartouche featuring an elderly winged man, possibly Old Father Time, rowing a boat using his scythe, ( perhaps trying to hinder the passage of love?), a winged cherub as passenger, a small sail featuring a drawing of cherubs on a see-saw, to each side two verses in French speak of Love and a journey, verso plain, guard approx. 24cm
In good order, with perhaps some light securing of folds in the past. Faint brown stain on the top border.
