This Ottoman calligraphic artwork features the Shahada, the Islamic declaration of faith, rendered in an imposing and structured square Kufic script. The inscription reads:
"La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah" — "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."
