An unusual Northern European cold painted terracotta figure of a woman, probably British, possibly intended as a display for a pork butcher's shop, late 19th c, in a red dress, green apron and black cloak, holding and carrying in her hands four piglets, the head of a fifth poking out of her hood, square base, 82cm h
Head broken off at shoulders and neatly re-stuck with small losses and old re-decoration; much encrusted with dust and grime. Base partly filled with concrete (?) to lend stability, at later date.
