A large Chinese bronze figure of Guanyin, 19th century or earlier. Stylistically similar to Ming Dynasty period renditions of Guanyin. The bodhisattva is depicted seated in the padmasana lotus position wearing a long flowing robe and adorned with jewellery and an elaborate tiara. Holding the all seeing eye in her left hand is a rare addition to this typical composition. 31 cm height.
Condition report: Some surface wear with age. The figure displays remnants of gilt application. Edge to base of left hand side bearing soldered restoration as illustrated.
