Thomas Crawford Barras (1926-1996) Three gilt embroidered rugby caps: one for The Royal Navy dated 1946-47 and 1948-49, another for Hampshire (no dates) and a third possibly for Glasgow University dated 1936-38 and 1938-39, together with two other similar caps. *Notes -Born into a distinguished Glasgow medical family Thomas Crawford Barras studied at both Glasgow School and University before becoming a surgeon in 1944. In 1945 he joined the Merchant Navy and was a surgeon in the RNVR 1946-1950. A keen rugby player he played for Hampshire, the United Services and also trained for Scotland.
