A large Chinese porcelain blue and white double gourd vase, 19th century, the lower body decorated with two landscape vignettes against a ground of extensive lotus medallions and scrolls, the upper section similarly decorated with vignettes of deer, 43cm high
No obvious signs of restoration, cracks or chips. The exterior surface suffers from staining, paint speckles, and grubbiness throughout. Surface scratching can also be seen. The higher gourd appears to lean/cambers, presumably a firing/manufacturing flaw. Unglazed foot rim. Some pitting to the underside.
