Interesting and unusual French two train calendar mantel clock, the 4" rounded arched dial signed Valogne á Paris beneath the chapter ring and above subsidiary days of the week and date of the month dials, the movement also signed Valogne á Paris no. 966, with outside countwheel and striking on a bell, within a rounded arched stepped case gilded to the front with trailing foliage, surmounted by an ornate brass handle, 11.5" high (pendulum and key)
**There is little known about Charles Valogne, but in Tardy's Dictionaire, it is noted that he traded at the Rue du Grande Chantier in Paris, was a clockmaker and probably a retailer as well
This clock generally appears in reasonable condition with expected wear and tear for age, the movement appears to be running and striking. Please see images for guidance; personal viewing always advised where possible.
