The stock and mounts of a superimposed load German wheellock pistol circa 1640, 20" overall, the 12½" barrel a replacement, probably to convert it to single shot. Basically good condition, chipped and worn around the lock, the ramrod pipe missing. Ex Collection of the Counts von Giech, sold by Sothebys in 1974, the butt retaining the original worn label of the von Geich Armoury. The complete pair to this pistol was sold in the same sale as lot 260. £350-400
