A GEORGE IV 1822 PATTERN INFANTRY OFFICERS SWORD AND SCABBARD BY PROSSER OF LONDON. With an 82.5cm pipe backed blade wit spear point, etched to both sides with Crown, George IV monogram and to the ricasso for 'Prosser manufacturer to the King, Charing Cross'.The half basket hilt with Gothic points and George IV crest in an oval, with folding 'S' shaped guard, wire bound fish skin grip and decorative strap with stepped domed pommel. In black leather scabbard with twin ring suspension and decorative brass mounts. 97 cm overall.

Scabbard with lower brass element detached, surface of leather rubbed and cracked. Blade with some rubbing and light marking. Generally an attractive example.
