Carl Frederik Sorensen (Danish, 1818-1879), A gunship and other shipping off the coast. oil on canvas, signed lower right, in a good, 19th century style swept frame. 22¼ x 33in. (56.5 x 83.8cm.). Relined. Two scratches to paint at upper left corner in sky. Otherwise good - clean and bright, canvas well stretched. A few minor retouches visible under UV, but nothing significant. Minor, light craquelure to darker areas in sea at lower margin.
