A boxed MBE with presentation certificate signed by TWO KINGS George V and his son the future Edward VIII in his capacity as Grand Master and Knight Grand Cross of the British Empire, very unusual indeed to find two kings signatures on one document. The recipient William Robert Rae was apparently security Superintendent and a confidant of King George V and along with the MBE was presented with a private gift of the gold and seed pearl cufflinks obtained from the best Scottish retailer Hamilton & Inches, jewellers by appointment to his Majesty as well as his Grandmother Queen Victoria. There are also two personal photographs, one showing him proudly wearing the actual medal.
The MBE is in the box as issued and the cufflinks are stamped WJH and 10ct. The gross weight of the cufflink pair is 6.1g but is outweighed by the story and history.
