A MID 20TH CENTURY WALNUT CASED MARINE CHRONOMETER BY THOMAS MERCER LTD, SUPPLIED BY JOHN LILLIE & GILLIE LTD, NEW QUAY, NORTH SHIELDS, NO.18741, the walnut case with glazed lid and mounted with suppliers label, the chronometer within gimbal with worn plating, silvered 4'' /10.5cm dial with 'THOMAS MERCER LTD ST.ALBANS, ENGLAND' to the centre, Roman numerals, subsidiary UP/ DOWN and seconds dials with 18741 to the centre, circular four pillar single chain fusee movement, the reverse of the dial mounting plate stamped 18741, with key, height of box 17cm, width 18.5cm x depth 19cm (Condition Report: chronometer winds and runs, plating on outer casing and frame is worn, badly worn to the back)
