A worksplate, J.A. MAFFEI, MUNCHEN, 1909, from one of the nine 70cm gauge 0-4-2Ts built for Jatiroto Sugar Mill in Java in that year with five more coming from Maffei in 1910. Java's biggest sugar mill, it had ceased steam locomotive operations by 1991. Cast brass, 9¾"x6", the front repainted. The plate originates from the Hugh Ballantyne collection. (Postage Band: B)
