NEYMAR DA SILVA 2016 OLYMPIC GAMES PARTICIPATION MEDAL A Neymar da Silva Santos Junior (Neymar Jr) Participation Medal from the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil. Neymar was a member of the Brazilian Olympic Team as a member of the Men's Soccer Squad that would go on to win the gold medal. Neymar scored the winning penalty kick to capture Brazils first ever gold medal in soccer, defeating Germany 5-4 on penalty kicks in a match that ended 1-1 after extra-time. A truly remarkable occasion from Brazils biggest name on home soil. This official Olympic Participation Medal was presented to Neymar by the Olympic Organizing Committee and collected from the squad's Olympic training base in Goiania by team staff. The medal is contained in a folding booklet which is contained in a sliding cardboard cover. The International Olympic Committee provides all participants with a participation medal during the Olympic Games. These participation medals differ from the medals awarded for success in each athletes respective competition. This medal comes directly from within the CBF traveling party to the Olympic Games in 2016 together with a COA.
