A scarce original WWII Japanese battle flag, 39” x 27”, having central red disc surrounded by painted characters, and with official red stamp in one corner, two corners reinforced with metal foil and with short securing cords. GC (creased). This flag was collected by the vendor’s father from the site of the Battle of Kohima shortly after the battle. He was a founder member of the American 2nd Combat Cargo Group of the USAAF, which was initially responsible for dropping supplies to troops in Burmah, including Britain’s “Forgotten Army” £300
