Limoges (France) finely gilded porcelain tea and part dessert service, the tea service gilded throughout with delicate flowers against a rich cobalt flow blue ground, maker's mark 'GDa France' comprising twelve cups, eleven saucers, milk jug, sugar basin, eleven sandwich plates and one bread and butter plate; also by the same manufacturer a short dessert comport, boldly decorated with pink flowers, with two matching dessert plates (40)

More Information

There are variations in the depth of blue on the borders of the plates. Minor rubbing to the gilt at the edge and the odd scratch. There is some stacking wear to the enamelled flowers at the edge of the centre of the plate. Two plates are chipped at the edge. The bread-and-butter plate is OK.
The saucers have slight rubbing to the gilded edge. Some stacking wear visible resulting in gilt rubbing in places. No chips or cracks found.
The cups have slight rubbing to the gilt edges in places but otherwise good.
The sugar basin is good. The milk jug, again, has rubbbing to the gilt, especially around the rim.
Of the non-matching plates, the short comport has chips to the underside of the rim. The two plates are good.
