Falkland Islands: Falkland Islands and Dependencies Sealing Company Limited, £50 share, Port Stanley 19[28], #34, ornate border, black. Registered in the Falkland islands by Falkland, South Georgia and Norwegian interests to harvest seal skins. The company operated a factory at Albemarle with some 30 employees, enough to handle 300 seals per day. The company lasted about 10 years but made no profit and cost the lives of 40,000 seals. VF and extremely rare.
