LATE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY OAK DRESSER, the moulded slender oblong top above three cockbeaded frieze drawers, fitted with brass swan neck handles with fret cut back plates, and near matching escutcheons, set over a shaped apron and raised on turned front supports, tied by flat stretchers, 30 ½” (77.5cm) high, 71 ½” x 15 ¼” (181.6cm x 38.7cm) C/R top- with woodworm holes, piece let in to left of centre, 3” x 1 ½” approx, screw holes suggesting a back present at some time, filler to back right corner, usual minor splits, black stains, scratching and rubbing to polish, handles possibly later, both front and back stretchers made of two pieces spliced together, inner edges of back legs very rough and with woodworm holes
