A 19th century American Naval officer’s sword, blade 28” etched with scrolls and oak leaves, anchor, and “US Navy”; French style brass hilt embossed with oak leaves and acorns and “USN”, engraved on the underside with owner’s initials “A.A.B”, and with wire bound fishskin covered grip; in its brass mounted leather scabbard, the locket also with owner’s initials. Basically GC (blade and grip binding worn, quillon bent, scabbard mounts dented). £150-200.
