A VICTORIAN INDIAN GENERAL SERVICE MEDAL TO THE BORDER REGIMENT. An Indian General Service Medal, 1852 with Waziristan 1894-95 clasp named to 3639 Pte A.Bell 2nd Bn Border Regt. 3639 Alfred Bell enlisted for the 2nd Battalion Border Regiment on the 25th October 1899, he was discharged at Gosport on the 3rd of February 1905. During his period of service his name appeared all to regularly in the Regimental Defaulter Book, where he is regularly recorded as drunk in barracks and overstaying passes, he also made a false accusation against an N.C.O., took beer away from the coffee shop. He forfeited Good Conduct badges on two separate occasions and reduced to 'Class 1 Service' on another. His record records service in India and participation in the Waziristan campaign and the award of the medal. With extensive copied research. *CR Suspension slightly loose, otherwise good condition with an interesting history.
