1930 HLI Boxing Medallion plus 1929 Aldershot Command Javelin gilt medallion.
Overall GC (Quantity) Captain Carey, enlisted into the ranks of the HLI and in 1930 with the rank of Corporal was the winner in the regimental middleweight boxing compition. At the outbreak of the Second World War he was granted a commission and in 1944 was promoted Captain.
