Labelled verso, 'The Property of The Most Honourable the Marquess of Carisbrooke (dec'd), G.C.B. G.C.V.O.' and 'Present home of H.R.H. Princess Margaret and Mr. Anthony Armstrong-Jones' Alexander Mountbatten, 1st Marquess of Carisbrooke, was born Prince Alexander Albert of Battenburg in 1886 and was the youngest grandchild of Queen Victoria. He died in 1960 at Kensington Palace.
