Royal Navy George V Period Attributed Officer Sword A good example of the regulation pattern. The straight blade with etched decoration of a crowned GVR cypher. The reverse with a crowned fouled anchor and title Royal Navy. The forte with the retailers details of Gieves. The hilt of the regulation pattern with solid guard, shageen grip and a lion head pommel. The folding rear guard engraved with the name A.J. PETRIE-HAY. Housed in brass mounted black leather scabbard. Overall GC etching to the blade clear and clean. Lieutenant Commander A.J. Petrie-Hay is noted as a Paymaster Midshipman serving at HMS Barham in 1935 and was serving at the Admiralty in 1946
