Sunderland Loyal Volunteers Officer's Early 19th Century  Sword


31 1/4 inch, single edged, slightly curved blade.  Large fuller running through the point.  Gilt brass, D shape crossguard with scroll piercing, downturn quillon and D shape knuckle bow.  Fluted square urn pommel.  Polished, ribbed bone, square form grip with central gilt brass band engraved "Sunderland Loyal Volunteers" with central crowned motif.  Contained in a well made replacement leather scabbard with original gilt brass throat and chape.  Slight chip to grip.
