A worksplate, BUILT 1960, SWINDON, from BR 9F Class 922001 EVENING STAR, named at Swindon Works on March 18th, the last steam locomotive built by British Railways, withdrawn from Cardiff East Dock in June 1965 and stored at Severn Tunnel Junction. The plate was acquired by the late Derek Short at the time. (We sold this plate in our October 2010 Stoneleigh auction). Cast iron, 10½"x6", ex loco condition. (Postage Band: C)
