NOTES OF A CONTINENTAL TOUR IN 1868, A MID-VICTORIAN HANDWRITTEN TRAVEL JOURNAL
Bound in gilt-tooled deep blue Morocco leather, marbled endpapers.

A fascinating and unique record of C19th travel through France, Belgium, Northern Italy, Switzerland and Germany, the handwritten account beginning with a map drawn in ink, tracing the route taken and illustrated with pasted-in sepia-tone photographic views; also contained is a pressed alpine flower

Included with the lot is a small collection of early-C20th photographic postcards, mainly of a Mount Everest/Nepalese mountaineering interest, with some African views
