A 19th Century French 1866 pattern ' Chassepot ' rifle sword bayonet. The bayonet having ribbed brass hilt, muzzle ring and forward facing quillon. The recurved ' Yataghan ' style blade dated to the spine 1872. Housed in lacquered steel scabbard. Measures approx 70cm.
