1660 (Dec 11) Entire letter written and signed by the Secretary of State Sir William Morice from Whitehall, addressed "For my much honored brother Edmunde Prideaux esq at Padstowe in Cornwall, att Plymouth leave this with the postmaster to be conveyed" and signed "Will Morice", allowed to go free. Prideaux has been made one of the Deputy Lieutenants of Cornwall; his commission is being sent by Mr Peirce. A fine early free frank after the Restoration and an interesting inscription for the Plymouth Postmaster. Photo on Page 30.
