A worksplate, VULCAN FOUNDRY, 5172, 1944 from a War Department Austerity 2-8-0 built by Vulcan to Ministry of Supply order in December 1944, WD No 79229. Loaned to the LNER in March 1947, it was purchased by BR in December 1949, becoming 90690. A Scottish based engine, its sheds were Thornton Junction, Polmadie and Motherwell from where it was withdrawn in September 1962 and cut up at Darlington Works. Cast brass, 9¾"x5¾", ex loco condition. (Postage Band: B)
