THE ROYAL ENGINEERS: PROFESSIONAL PAPERS OF THE ROYAL ENGINEERS: over 40 volumes. A few copies have detached boards/spines. Most are ex-library of The Royal Engineers. However, many are well-bound and complete. A few have been rebound. The run begins with 1838 (vol 2), then 1840 (vol. 4, rear board detached but present), vol 6 1842 (no binding), vol 7 (original half-leather, front board detached but present), vol 8 (original binding solidly bound), vol 9 (original cloth, beginning to split). Thence 1848 'Corps Papers' Vol 1 (very nicely rebound), and vols 1,3,4,5,7 of the 'new' series beginning 1851 all solidly or reasonably bound. Vol 9 (1860) is again nicely rebound and thence: 12-18. 19 is missing. Thence 20-22 are present. There are then three volumes of 'Occasional Papers vols 2 , 4 and 5 (1880 and 1882). The Professional Papers resume with 4 volumes 1883-1886 inclusive. 1887 is missing. Then 1888-1893 inclusive. 1895 and 1896 differently bound. Then the last three are 1898, 1899, 1901. There is then an index in the predominant green boards for 1837-1892. Many fold-out diagrams/plates. Fascinating historical record.
