Rare 19th century Japanese hardwood cased Makura-Dokei brass striking clock, having fully glazed case, the clock set on a hardwood plinth with small drawer and having steel bell above clock face with moving chapters within a foliate engraved panel, single pierced hand, single chain Fusee movement, with foliate engraved back plate. The clock 9cm high excluding plinth. Case overall 12cm approx. (B.P. 21% + VAT)

The clock overall appears in good condition, some wear to gilding, appearing complete but not tested as working. The hardwood case has one loose pain of glass, is otherwise good. No obvious signature.
