*Ultravox played The Hot Club, Philadelphia on 23rd February 1979. Having just been dropped by Island Records, they were offered a tour of America by Miles and Ian Copeland, as there was a big audience for British new wave acts at that time. John Foxx was already considering his future at the start of their six week US run and by the end of the tour, finishing with a performance at the Whiskey, decided to call time. His departure made way for Midge to come in as vocalist, taking the band in their new commercial direction.
