CHAPEI CIVILIAN ASSEMBLY CENTRE - MISSENT TO GERMANY? - 26 June 1944 POW lettersheet US to Chapei camp, censored with German tape so presumably missent there(?), also US censor mark at lower left, eventually returned after the war (Dec. 1945 New York cancel on back) with fine purple "RETURN TO SENDER/By Direction of the War Department/Undeliverable as Addressed", most unusual. Also 1943 env. from Egypt to Chapei with Tokyo Red Cross mark & Egyptian & Chapei censor marks. Plus Sep. 1945 env. from the camp to Scotland with SHANGHAI cds & Indian censor mark on back.
