A replica HMS. Edinburgh gold bar encased in acrylic Given to members of the team which included Richard Larn, who at the time was working with Consortium Salvage. Also a signed and dedicated copy of Barry Penrose’s book ‘Stalin’s Gold’ given in appreciation of their efforts in the research and recovery of 431 gold bars, worth £45 million at the time, £142 million today. The divers were working in 800ft of water, 200 miles off Murmansk, Russia, in an operation known as the ‘Salvage of the Century’. (2)
