LIONEL EDWARDS (British, 1878-1966), A SET OF HAND COLOURED PRINT ON PAPER, 5 PCS, FOX HUNTING SCENES, a collection of five hand coloured prints by Lionel Edwards, each depicting a fox hunting scene. Artist’s signature lower left. Inscription with provenance details verso of one print. Dimensions: 45cm x 58cm approx. frames. More about the artist: Lionel Edwards was a renowned equestrian and military artist, born at Clifton in 1878. Following his studies under several artists of the time, Edwards went on to spend his time combining hunting and painting, with many of his paintings created from sketches taken while hunting. Following work in the army Remount Service during WWI, Edwards went on to make a living painting sporting pictures for periodicals. Working mainly in watercolour, Edwards illustrated more than 100 books and his career spanned more than six decades.
