Gardner brothers medals with:
1. WW1 BWM and Victory Medal to 310087 Pte H.F. Gardner Tank Corps extremely fine with box of issued. With copied MIC, only issued a pair.
2. WW2 1939-1945, Pacific Stars and BWM attributed to D/JX138912 Yeo of Sigs R.D.H. Gardner R.N. nearly mint. With Admiralty condolence transmittal slip named to Ronald Douglas Haig Gardner, this has been folded. He was killed in action on 2nd March 1942 when the destroyer HMS Stronghold was sunk south of Java by a Japanese force including the heavy cruiser Maya and a number of destroyers. 74 of the crew were killed in the action and a further 50, after days afloat were captured by the Japanese and became POWs. With no known grave, he is commemorated on the Plymouth Naval Memorial. With a photo of Ron in uniform, all contained in 1907 tin commemorating the visit of the King & Queen to Cardiff. (R)
