EARLY LETTERS (BELGIUM) - "G8" POSTAL RATE COVER EX ANTWERP FORWARDING AGENT TO LONDON; Fine 13 Sept. 1600 EL from Anv[ers]a (Antwerp) to Corsini in London charged G8 (8 groats = 32d), which would have covered a bundle of 16 letters rated at 2d each for local London delivery (or for delivery from Dover to London) delivered on the same day. Only two other G8 rate covers have been recorded from the whole of the Corsini correspondence (from Lyons in 1594 and from Middelburg in 1598). This letter was sent by the Antwerp Forwarding Agent, Gio A.G. Vergano; it concerned goods forwarded for Corsini from Antwerp to Middelburg and to Emden.
